The maintenance of the PVC doors and windows is as simple as possible. They can be washed with soft cotton, cellulose or woolen cloth and a mild cleaning agent or a special PVC cleaning solution. They can't be wiped with a dry cloth, because they are made of plastic, and the profiles get charged, thus, promoting the deposition of dust. The use of abrasive or organic solvents (benzene, alcohol, or acetone) should be avoided, as these may damage the profiles. Do not use sharp or pointed tools which may scratch the windows.
Precisely because PVC doors and windows ensure the proper closure of the living area, it is recommended to ventilate the rooms twice a day, in order to prevent moisture condensation. The hardware must be lubricated with silicone oil (oil made for fine mechanisms) every year, while the seals should be treated with silicone-based substances in order for them to retain their characteristics. |
It is recommended to construct masonry over the polyurethane foam within 10 days from the installation of the windows. Be careful, however, not to obstruct the drainage slots or the slots of the locking mechanisms. At the same time, it is recommended to perform the insulation of the exterior walls simultaneously with the installation of the PVC doors and windows. Immediately after performing the repairs, the adhesive tape has to be removed from the doors and windows; otherwise this may get impregnated into the profile.
The PVC profile, the glass and the seals can be washed with water and detergent by means of a soft cloth, and rinsed with clean water. The rubber seals should be lubricated regularly with special oil. The hardware parts should be cleaned with water and detergent by means of a soft cloth, and they should be degreased every six months with fine gear oil or special grease. |
